Deano W. Kates-Paulus
Class of 1989
Deano was 1 of 20 Florida State Troopers to be honored and to be a part of the "2007 CENTURY ACHIEVERS RECOGNITION EVENT " on April 23, 2007.
He was honored @ 2 ceremonies in Tallahassese, Florida. The first was a luncheon at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center, given by Florida's chapter of MADD with keynote speaker being Governor Charlie Crist and the second was held at Florida Highway Patrol's Headquarters & given by Colonel Christopher Knight.
Deano was recognizied for being a "Life Saver" at the MADD luncheon and received an award for his commitment to enforcing Florida's DUI laws, "100+ DUI ARRESTS". The second award was given to him from the Colonel at FHP's Headquarters and it was an Outstansding Service Award 2007, "ONE HUNDRED CLUB".
Deano achieved these 2 awards by arresting 128 motorists for driving under the influence during 2006. He arrested 128 motorists in 10 months, the last 2 months of the year he promoted out of Troop C into Troop L's Motor Unit and was attending the Motor school in November and December.
